The Eurasian Patent Organization (EAPO) is an intergovernmental intellectual property organization established under the Eurasian Patent Convention, headquartered in Moscow, Russia, with Russian as its official language and eight member states. It consists of two main bodies: the Administrative Council and the Eurasian Patent Office. Its core mission is to provide unified legal protection for inventions and industrial designs across member states via a single Eurasian patent. As the executive body, the Eurasian Patent Office accepts, searches and examines patent applications, grants patents, handles oppositions and appeals, and also acts as an International Searching and Preliminary Examining Authority under the PCT frameworkЕвразийское патентное ведомство. In 2025, EAPO joined the Geneva Act of the Hague Agreement and adjusted official fees, which will take effect on February 1, 2026. It also strengthened cooperation with CNIPA and other global IP authorities. Besides, EAPO regularly organizes IP training, seminars and promotional events to build a regional IP cooperation platform and boost technological innovation across Eurasia.
