Introduction
The Lancang - Mekong Comprehensive Law Enforcement and Security Cooperation Center is the first comprehensive intergovernmental international organization for law enforcement and security cooperation in the Lancang - Mekong Basin.
According to the Memorandum of Understanding on the Establishment of the Lancang- Mekong Integrated Law Enforcement and Security Cooperation Center , the Lancang-Mekong Law Enforcement Center will formulate an action plan according to the law enforcement needs of member states. O n t he basis of respecting t he sovereignty a nd l aws o f m ember s tates, t he c enter w ill gradually b ecome a c omprehensive p latform for c oordinating t he prevention a nd c ombating o f t ransnational v iolations and c rimes in t he r egion, t he i ntegration and e xchange o f i ntelligence a nd i nformation , joint a ctions o n special g overnance, and strengthening law enforcement capacity building . It is committed to providing high - quality and efficient services to the law enforcement departments of member states, jointly responding to changes in the regional security situation and risks and challenges , and providing security guarantees for cooperation and development in various fields of Lancang - Mekong countries.
