The Registry of Intellectual Property of Guatemala (RPI) is an official agency under Guatemala’s Ministry of Economy, with its official website at [https://rpi.gob.gt/](https://rpi.gob.gt/). It consists of three core departments: Department of Trademarks and Other Distinctive Signs, Department of Patents and Industrial Designs, and Department of Copyright and Related Rights.
It administers application, examination, registration, modification, renewal and assignment recordal for trademarks, trade names, geographical indications, invention patents, utility models, industrial designs and copyright works. It enforces domestic intellectual‑property legislation and ensures legal certainty for IP rights acquisition, maintenance and protection, encouraging national innovation and creativity for economic growth.
RPI provides e‑consultation, online filing, official gazette publication, CATI information service and IP dispute mediation. It cooperates with WIPO and handles PCT national‑phase entries, delivering registration services for both domestic and foreign applicants。
