The National Service of Intellectual Rights (SENADI, formerly IEPI) is Ecuador’s national‑level authority for intellectual property, attached to the Secretariat of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation with administrative and financial autonomy. It oversees the full‑cycle administration of national intellectual property, covering patents, trademarks, industrial designs, plant varieties, copyright and related rights, as well as the protection of local traditional knowledge and indigenous cultural heritage. Its official website delivers one‑stop online services for enterprises, inventors and creators, including IP application, registration, licensing‑transfer filing, legal‑norm inquiry and case publication. The agency conducts administrative enforcement, dispute mediation and anti‑infringement work. It implements international treaties of the Andean Community and WIPO, promotes domestic innovation, and offers IP outreach and training for universities, research institutes and market players, supporting technology transfer and underpinning Ecuador’s scientific‑technological progress, cultural creativity and sound business environment.
