The Malagasy Industrial Property Office (OMAPI) is an autonomous public authority administering industrial property in Madagascar. To obtain exclusive industrial‑property rights in Madagascar, applicants must file registrations with OMAPI. It receives, examines and registers trademarks, trade names, invention patents and industrial designs. OMAPI delivers free IP training for enterprises, universities, researchers, artisans and institutions. It enforces national industrial‑property legislation and cooperates with WIPO, implementing international treaties including the Paris Convention and Madrid Protocol.
